Nowadays, celebrities are able to take pictures of their outfit and share it with friends, family, and fans on social media instantly creating an impact. This is then adopted by high street stores where they merchandise and sell many such inspirations taken from celebrities and their fashions; affecting the clothing choices of the public and fans.<\/p>\n

Icons are used to revolutionise the way fans and consumers wear clothes and pave a new way between art, industry, leisure, consumer culture, and modern identity. This means these individuals shape contemporary society and over their career set trends as they are watched by the paparazzi for what they wear, on the red carpet, out in the public, out to dinner or even out for a walk.<\/p>\n

One such example is Madonna Ciccone \u2013 Known as a pop music star, actress and fashion innovator, she is a cultural icon who has had an enormous global influence on how people dress and look. No pop diva has reinvented her fashion image with the consistency and creativity of Madonna. Madge emerged on the scene in the early \u201980s as a street-smart \u201cBoy Toy\u201d and, over the course of her 30-plus year career, evolved into a fashion-forward icon whose sense of style became as influential as her chart-topping tunes.<\/p>\n

Audrey Hepburn is another celebrity who capitalised on the changing times she was living in and her status. She popularised straight, black-cropped pants, boatneck tops, and comfortable slip-on loafers designed by none other than Ferragamo. She made Holly Golightly an icon in the film\u00a0Breakfast at Tiffany\u2019s<\/em>, a fashion favourite forever. For some like Audrey, their legacy and style lives on even though they have passed away.<\/p>\n

As contemporary fashion icons they are a different breed and their style is a powerful mix of influences, trends and fashions. They master the ability to regularly transform looks and their image and their celebrity professions require them to repackage themselves continuously \u2013 leading people to follow and copy them.<\/p>\n

Behind every celebrity is a celebrity stylist, so\u2026\u2026 is it possible to be a truly authentic style icon anymore? \u201cI think the answer to that is yes, as long as you have people following them, you will no doubt- have the need for them and their fashions\u201d.<\/p>\n
